Too Focused on the Sunset

As the sun begins to rise in the east here are some things I’d love to do today:

• Kayak on Somerset Reservoir beneath Mt Stratton, VT.
• Bird watch for warblers in Cades Cove, Smokey Mountain National Park, TN.
• Walk the Highline Trail in Glacier National Park, MT.
• Plop a beach chair down in the warm shallow waters off Caladesi Island, FL.
• Sit on a hillside in Ancramdale, NY at a bluegrass festival.

After I finish my first cup of coffee this is what I will do today:

• Pay my bills.
• Mow the lawn.
• Open the mail.
• Fall asleep on the couch watching the U.S. Open.
• Panic when I awake thinking the weekend is more than 1/2 over.

Sometimes I wish life wasn’t so damned honest!
